and two napkin rings. . . A Vacation Tablescape!
Every Autumn "Mr. Ed" and I journey to Lebanon, Missouri for our Annual Trout Fishing Trip to Bennett Spring State Park.
While "Mr. Ed" is busily packing all his Trout Fishing gear ~ I'm just as busily packing all the food items and necessities for our week long stay.
Over the years, I've learned to pack a few "comforts of home". This year was no exception!
We rented the same Condo @ Larry's Cedar Resort. . .
photos from last years trip made my decision quite easy.
To accent the rectangular table, I chose ~ a runner!
The centerpiece ~ a basket filled with ivy ~ relocated from the master bedroom dresser fit nicely.
Muted shades of burgundy, gold, rose and sage green with a background of khaki makes a lovely softer side of Autumn tablescape.
"Mr. Ed" and I chose to set across from one another at the width of the table. This way he could share his "fish tales" from the Spring; therefore, I brought ~ two place mats!
I felt the stripe wasn't as complimentary with the stripes that encompass the Condo dinnerware. Instead, I opted for the floral side.
Flatware is ample ~ but not always matching. I found two complete sets. I chose the swirl pattern for "Mr. Ed's" place setting . . .for me. . . the floral version. So shabby chic!
Two napkins and two napkin rings.
Our Condo is well supplied with:
Dinner plates . . .
salad / dessert plates. . .
cereal / soup bowls
all are Corelle and easily washed, dried and put away until the next meal!
The mugs are from Main Stay.
Darling swirled and ruffled clear glass bowls. . .
salt and pepper shakers. . .
and a vintage creamer complete this vacation tablescape!
A runner, two place mats, two napkins ~
and two napkin rings. . . A Vacation Tablescape!
All the "comforts of home" ~
away from home!
Until next time. . .

Hello sweet Pat! Your vacation table looks so lovely! That is wonderful that you brought some placemats and napkins and rings! It is so much nicer to sit at a "pretty" table, isn't it? I am glad you had a good vacation! Did you catch any fish???? XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteHi Pat...
ReplyDeleteJust coming by to say hello, my friend! It's been a little while since I have been by for a visit.
Well dear friend, it certainly looks like you had a marvelous vacation time! The countryside looks sooo beautiful and your little condo..sooo cozy! I would love it! I just think it's wonderful that you packed a few comforts...and pretties...from home! Your table turned out beautiful! I love the quilted runner and placemats.
I hope that my note is finding you and Mr.Ed both doing well! Hopefully rested and full of cheer after vacationing!
Warmest autumn wishes,
Chari
Vacations shouldn't be any different from home. Love your choice of linens and what is a napping without a nappin ring!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a neat vacation. Love the table runner and placemats. Have a great week, Pat!
ReplyDeleteOh my Pat! Even on vacation you are setting pretty tables! What a good idea to make sure you have the comforts of home! I learn a lot from you, dear one!
ReplyDeleteHope the fish are biting!
xo Yvonne
We just went through Lebanon going to and from Branson! I love the picture of Bennett Spring State Park! Neat!
ReplyDeleteGreat table and I bet Mr Ed enjoys those comforts after a long hard day of fishing! :)
I was tempted to do this at the condo we stayed at a few weeks ago in Orlando but ran out of time. How nice to set a pretty table away from home!

Beautiful autumn table! Love those warm fall colours. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you on my blog:)
Pat, this is completely unrelated but I just wanted to send you a quick THANK YOU. I saw your comment on Echos of Laughter regarding how to fix the issue with commenting on blogger. It's been driving me crazy for months now and I didn't know how to fix it. I tried your suggestion and it totally worked!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would have thought about creating a table on vacation...my hat is off to you! Great table and lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteBlessings My friend,
Hi, Pat! Home is totally what you make it, and you did a great job of building in all the comforts of home for your trip! You should have stopped by my house...we're only 3 hours northwest of Lebanon! :-) I don't think I've ever been to Lebanon, but I've been to Osage Beach PLENTY of times!!! I can remember going for day trips to the outlet mall there. I wonder if the mall is still there? So many have closed. Anyway, great job! Have a great weekend!
