calls for a Traditional Christmas Tablescape !
I must, must, m u s t
publicly thank my dear blog friend. . .
Pinky @ Designs by Pinky
for all her suggestions and encouragement !
Without her guidance and patience,
I'd still be trying to figure out something for our centerpiece !
Pinky and I had several e~mail messages
as I tried to decide what to use
as a centerpiece for this tablescape.
However, it wasn't until I put all the place mats on the table
that the actual design for the centerpiece began.
As the photo clearly shows. . .
I had a small amount of room in the center of the table
once those red circular place mats were in place.
The discussions Pinky and I had were mainly about flowers
or a figurine for the centerpiece. . .
. . .and while flowers are usually my first choice,
I already had hydrangea in the chandelier above.
(We'll save those photos for another post entirely !)
The petite white bud vases will hold real red roses
with a sprig of holly when we host
Christmas On Crooked Creek,
but for now, the roses are faux.
Traditional red and silver were chosen for this
Traditional Christmas Tablescape.
Using my everyday white dinnerware
allows me less time in the kitchen
and more time in the Family Room
to share in the Celebration of Christmas !
Mary Carol dessert / salad plates
are the perfect Traditional choice
to compliment my everyday whites.
Clear bubble glass stemware
is our favorite pick for most meals served On Crooked Creek.
The same holds true for our
everyday flatware by Oneida.
Please tell me that you do this, too. . .
purchase something and put it away
. . .then completely f o r g e t that you have the item.
Y e s, I did !
I'm so glad I found these vintage hand embrodiered
linen napkins (again) when I went in search
of which napkins would grace our Traditional table !
After moving the striped chair cushions to the lower level
Family Room this past week,
I was able to bring in the vintage button pillows
that I made this past August.
I adore how the creamy ivory chair pads
set a striking background for these Christmas accent pillows !
The final decision hasn't been made
whether to serve buffet style or to extend the table
and serve a family ~ stlye meal.
Can you guess which is my choice ? ? ?
Do keep in mind that we serve dessert
on the lower level Family Room ~
after we've exchanged and opened gifts !
Pinky,
it is with a heart filled with gratitude
that I thank you, dear friend !
A Traditional centerpiece

Isn't it so fun to have someone to toss around ideas with!? Love the centerpiece and so glad you found your long forgotten napkins. Yes I do the same thing which is kindof fun- like a delayed or early Christmas gift to myself.
ReplyDeleteLovely table Pat! I would keep it just like it is and have an intimate dinner.

Your table is beautiful! I love the textures and color of your centerpiece. Your wreath plates are fantastic--are they vintage also? what pattern are those? Thank you for sharing! New follower too. Take care, Kris
ReplyDeleteHi Pat! Oh, what a lovely table and I do love your pretty centerpiece with the fruit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your suggestion about my china cabinet. I think I've decided not to paint like you said and maybe add some backing that I can change. You're so smart!
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Very nice. Love how those napkins coordinate.
