Purchased For A Purpose!

Updating of Studio One is finally moving forward!
But, as you may have read in an earlier post. . .
I had to fill my time while waiting for supplies to arrive.

So~o~o. . .
I re~organized the vintage three drawer dresser.

Once you descend the stairs
to the lower level living area On Crooked Creek,
this is the first view of Studio One!

Continuing a streamlined look into Studio One,
I chose the dresser top to showcase
my newly purchased silver mercury glass pieces.

Shopping the upper level,
I began this vignette using a white lamp
with silk ivory lamp shade.

Next, I filled the white embossed planter
with a faux boxwood bush, green and white hydrangea
and some white lilacs. The soft hues of the florals add a subtle
hint of color to this monochromatic vignette.

Then, I brought in the silver mercury glass pieces.
Each piece holds a lightly fragrance candle to create
a heavenly scented Studio One work area.

The cameo candle holder was given more presence
by placing it atop an ivory framed mirror.
This was the first piece I placed in my basket
and is a great clearance buy from TJ Maxx!!!

I adore three wick candles!!!
However, it is the crocheted appearing edging
that sold me on this silver mercury piece!!!
Placed atop a Battenburg Lace heart
gives this piece such a romantic flare!!!

This vintage Underwood typewriter
is e x a c t l y like the one I used
to learn to type with in High School!!!
Yes! It is!!!
The white typing paper has the greeting
Welcome to Studio One! typed across the page.
. . .and yes, it is double spaced!!!

This adorable vintage dresser
has three full drawers,
each measuring 13" deep X 28" wide
and  was purchased for a purpose!!!

You see, dear ones, Studio One was also the name
given to my Handmade Cards with a Vintage Flair
homebased business. This dresser, due to it's
depth and width was chosen to store my vintage papers!

The top drawer,  a bit narrower,
serves well to store my ink pads. . .

and a few of my favorite rubber stamps!

* * * * * * * * * * * * Tip * * * * * * * * * * * *

Storing your rubber stamps upside down
keeps the ink from drying out and preserves
their life and quality of your stamping!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The middle drawer, is my hardest worker.
Herein lies the bulk of my vintage scrapbooking papers!

The stack of paper on the left
is divided and labeled by color palette.
To protect the delicate papers,
I placed a 12" X 12" piece of cardboard
stock between each hue.

To the right are  various supplies
consisting of adhesives, and templates
for place cards and tags.
Beneath are the divided and labeled cardstock.

Which brings us to least used drawer of the three. . .
the bottom drawer.
This drawer contains some paper value packs,
new supply of assorted cardstock and some plastic templates.

The right side of this drawers holds
speciality and seasonal papers.

So~o~o. . .
I would guess you're wondering
if "Mr. Ed" and I are finished with all the updates???
No! But I will tell you that his painting is completed.
Mine, not so much!!!

Purchased with a purpose,
not only is the dresser for storing vintage papers. . .
or showcasing silver mercury glass candles. . .
but there are a few other surprises in store
as we continue to update Studio One!!!

Until next time. . .

  2. Studio One is going to be wonderful!!! You have thought out your space perfectly to make it as usefull as possible. Not to mention, PRETTY!!!! I love the candles and mercury glass. The typewriter reminded me so much of my Mom, who was a secretary all her life and used a typewriter like that for many years. XO, Pinky
