Chicken Wire Cabinet!

Winter with its snow and blowing cold often finds me in the midst of a major home make~over! Years ago, I painted the kitchen cabinets during a huge snowstorm. This year, I did a chicken wire cabinet make~over!

If you're a regular follower On Crooked Creek. . . you might remember that Santa Came Early this year with the arrival of two new chairs for the lower level! As we were gearing up for Christmas On Crooked Creek, I snapped some photo shots of the lower level family room. The lens of the camera sometimes picks up the details that one doesn't realize with the naked eye. All the furniture was lined up against the long wall like tombstones in a graveyard. Talk about depressing!

So . . .
with a bit of persuasion and coaxing, I convinced "Mr. Ed" to help me with a room re~arrangement. Then, I noticed the inside of the chicken wire cabinet. Not too impressive.

Oh, the weather outside was frightful. . .

. . .and the fire was so delightful,

AND. . .since I had no place to go!

I re~arranged the interior of the Chicken Wire Cabinet On Crooked Creek!

from top. . .

. . .to middle

. . .to bottom

. . . and everything in between!

Not bad for a snow storm on the prairie and a little too much time on my hands, huh?

In just a few short hours the Chicken Wire Cabinet went from this. . .

. . .to this!

On Crooked Creek will be joining our hostess Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch for Metamorphosis Monday! Please visit and be inspired by what others are doing with "time to spare"!

Until next time. . .

I chuckled because I was doing the same thing. My new roof had so much snow it backed up down the wall of my breakfast room. Will have to do it over it is wall paper. Love your red cuboard. You collect the kinda stuff I like. What a sweet valentine you are to your hubby.

For we three dogs and me:
Tried to leave you a message today. Not sure what happened but unable to leave a comment. The paint in the background of your cabinet really shows off your Spring dishes. Lovely! Thank you for your sweet visit today!
Fondly,
Pat

OOO, I am lovin' this, dear Pat.
I LUV anything with chicken wire.
And I love your cabinet and how you have it all arranged.
I have a hutch that had chicken wire in it back in the 70's. Then, it went out of style and Mr. Sweet put glass in for me. Now, I am wanting the wire back. :))) Gonna do it, too. Thanks for the inspiration...
hugs, bj

Pat, I just LOVE your chicken wire cabinet! Have you noticed that CHICKEN WIRE is everywhere right now, SO popular! I saw someone had replaced 2 doors on their kitchen cabinets with ch. wire and it looked beautiful! Love the red on your cabinet too! I am a "rearranger" too! My poor hubby never knows where something might disappear to, or appear in a different spot! Sometimes he thinks I bought something new just cause it is in a new spot:):) Have a great week. I am off to SUNNY, WARM Florida tomorrow for 8 days!!!!! Can't wait! XO, Pinky

It's amazing what one can do with a little time on one's hands -- I've been on a cleaning frenzy here at Linderhof -- two more spaces to go -- attic (which isn't too bad) and garage (which is!!!)

Then can I sit and rest . . . no!!!

I love what you did with your cabinet -- it looks so much better (and I didn't think it looked bad before!)

Shall we wish for another snow storm so we can accomplish something else?
