Visions of Sugarplums. . .

Years before arriving On Crooked Creek,
my expansive Gingerbread (People) Collection
was begun by a former employee of mine !

The collection that began with a simple Gingerbread Doll,
has now generously filled the built~in buffet On Crooked Creek !

This collection could be summarized
as "Clifford The Big Red Dog",
in that it has grown, and grown, and grown over the years.

Since I've left the glass cabinet doors open,
let's take a look at my intense collection together.

Starting on the top,
and going left ~ to ~ right. . .
a Gingerbread House Cookie Jar.

Sharing the shelf space
are the Gingerbread Baker Family. . .

The middle shelf showcases some adorable miniatures !
The Gingerbread Tray makes a vivid backdrop to
compliment the Gingerbread Tea Set,
shaking Gingerbread Boy and Girl
and the petite poinsettia cup and saucer.

Continuing the Gingerbread baking theme from the shelf above,
you'll find a vintage ironstone bowl filled with a country check towel and four different metal Gingerbread People Cookie Cutters, a Gingerbread Recipe Card Holder and Gingerbread Recipe Cards.

Allowing the individual collectibles to have greater visual impact,
I've used my vintage ironstone saucer and platter as the backdrop.

Keeping serving Gingerbread Plates close at hand,
and having enough height for the Gingerbread Dolls and Jar,
makes up our bottom shelf of the cabinets.

Felted Gingerbread Boy and Girl
are decked out in crazy embroidery stitches and rick rack.

A Gingerbread Doll Jar filled with peppermints
joins the Gingerbread Plates
and the sweet Gingerbread Doll, Sarah, who began it all ! ! !

A cabinet full of Gingerbread's
whether you view them from
left ~ to ~right

 or all together
is a sweet treat for the eyes !

Continuing to the open shelf of the buffet
you'll find another Gingerbread Couple,
a Gingerbread Tree,
another Gingerbread House Cookie Jar
and a Gingerbread Serving Tray.

In preparing for Christmas On Crooked Creek,
I placed more dessert dishes and a few bowls of hugs and kisses
for our guest to enjoy.

One last little Gingerbread Paper Doll,
used as a drawer pull embellishment,
dresses the bottom portion of our built~in cabinet.

Never,
did I ever
envision having such a vast collection of Gingerbreads !
I have threatened e v e r y member of m y family. . .
NO MORE GINGERBREADS ! ! !

Y e s ! ! !
There's more. . .
two trees full of them !

(To see those trees in their entirety. . .
view a past posting of  Trees On Crooked Creek. . .)

Until next time. . .

What a sweet collection of gingerbread people. I love looking at their faces and can't help but smile. I have had collections in the past that grew way beyond my original expectation, too. Thank you for sharing yours with us.
