just make my heart skip a beat!
This vintage circular table topper was so impressionable that I couldn't resist!
The crispness of a freshly laundered and pressed cotton table topper definitely needed a place of presence to be displayed.
The Guest Bedroom On Crooked Creek is better known as The Heritage Room for many of the antique furniture pieces and family heirlooms are lovingly arranged in this tiny room. A prestigious place fit for a newly acquired vintage table topper, indeed!
After re~locating the vintage writing desk to the lower level, I brought in this circular antique side table. Then, the task of finding a balance of accessories for display wasn't as easy as I had thought. I knew this lamp was needed for proper height for bedtime reading. This blue vase with white floral arrangement is one I adore!
First, I tried this rose embossed ivory mantle clock. . .
. . . but I settled with this floral embossed blue and white note pad and pen holder instead. The winged angel music box rotates as she sweetly plays Brahms's Lullaby.
Directly above this vintage vignette is the baby dress of my beloved Moma! The stitching is all done by hand, including the hand crocheted lace, by my beloved maternal Grandmother.
I knew I had a similar dresser scarf, from my years of collecting, to add to the opposite end table.
Although this vintage piece is ecru, I was amazed at how similar the lace and embroidery were.
I declare, this has to be the same satin stitch floral and trailing vine pattern!
Square table top surfaces always seem easier for me to arrange!
This vintage vignette came together quickly.
I love the softness of the blue hue of this lampshade at night. Turning it on for guest at dusk gives a restful appearance to the room.
However, if you follow On Crooked Creek, you know change is constant!
My garage $ale ivory lidded box find has been replaced!
After a recent trip to my favorite booth at our local Antique Mall, I found a working vintage Baby Ben Westclox! The 10% off helped to justify the cost. Alas ~ the perfect accessory!
Nestled neatly inside the end table drawer, I've placed velum stationery and a "tea time" note pad complete with an angelic ink pen for quick correspondence or journaling.
My husband's christening gown, which began with his father, is directly above the end table. I feel so honored to have this beautiful cotton, eyelet gown and have photos of both, my husband and his father, wearing this gown.
Several of my followers On Crooked Creek have left precious comments concerning the guest room tray.
This creamy ivory, wrought iron tray sits on the guest room bed. When guest arrive, the vase is filled with fresh florals from On Crooked Creek's gardens. Sometimes a daisy, sometimes a rose.
I remove the tray as I pull back the bedding each evening for our guest. In the morning, I return the tray with our guest choice of coffee or tea.
Sometimes for sitting or perhaps placing one's handbag, I kept the antique desk chair in the Guest Room. Placed at the end of the Jenny Lind bed and tucked neatly into a corner of the room, I flanked it with vintage Samsonite suitcases.
I adore the curves and hand~ carved back of this petite chair! The fact that it was covered in needlepoint made it an even sweeter find!
The view from the bed is one of a comforting hand ~ made heirloom quilt. I am fortunate enough to be blessed with several and can change them out as I choose during the year.
Above the quilt rack is my collection of Willow Tree Angels! All are gifts from former co~workers. . .they are precious to me!
Several years ago, as a gift from my Dad, I purchased this petite chandelier! It is the only crystal chandelier On Crooked Creek ! I can view it from the Master Bedroom and as I walk up an down the East Wing of our home!
What started out as simply finding a place for my new vintage table topper. . .
finished with a freshly arranged Heritage Room ready to greet our guests . . .
On Crooked Creek!
