Welcome to our Sunflower Patch On Crooked Creek!
Dear Ones,
"Mr. Ed" and I were both born in "The Sunflower State". Since our retirement from active duty . . . every year . . . "Mr. Ed" has cultivated the soil within the perimeters of our garden and made a Sunflower Patch for me!!!
I l o v e Sunflowers!
In the garden, my soul is sunshine.

and the shadows follow behind you."

beneath the sod,
and waits to see,
believes in God.
Plant kindness. . .
gather love.
Plant smiles,
grow giggles,
harvest love.
He who plants a garden, plants happiness.
Keeper of the garden.
Thank you for allowing "Mr. Ed" and I to share our
Sunflower Patch On Crooked Creek with you!

They are just wonderful and I am blown away at the size of that plant next to Mr Ed...Mine were so little in comparison.
Thank you for sharing this lovely sunny joy with us all.

A great post honoring our state flower!!!! We sometimes have sunflowers in the garden at Linderhof -- but they are from the bird seeds!
What a lovely patch of sunflowers. They are such a happy flower filled with sunshine

Just a lovely post! I too love sunflowers. We planted them twice this spring and only one or two little ones grew. Crazy growing season here in our part of the midwest. Your pictures are so pretty.

Pat, sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. I don't have the real ones, but I use the faux ones all the time in my decor. Yours are wonderful, and wow are they ever big and beautiful. Hugs, Marty
We just finished Sun Flower days here in my little town of Clarksville,mo. Pop. 490. We have several artist and galleries here and we host this event each year. WE invite artist to come paint the sunflowers that are planted everywhere. We had 45 paintings entered this last weekend. Your blog here reminded me of this event. Thanks for sharing. Richard from My Old Historic House.
Love your Sunflower patch! I really enjoyed all the pictures. I grew a few from seed in a coffee can this year. They're just starting to open up. You've given me hope that next year I can grow them in a flower bed! Thanks so much for sharing. And, thank Mr. Ed too!
I have never had any luck with sunflowers. They're meant to be quite easy but I ALWAYS knock off their little heads when they are small. Grrrr.
Yours are LOVELY!
