Finally the moment has arrived that I can share our
Progressive Christmas Brunch Bunch Tablescape!!!
The 'waiting time' to share this
prepared especially for our Brunch Bunch
has finally come to an end !
come sit at the head of the table
while I share with you
just how this tablescape came to be !
Once the ladies agreed that having a
Progressive Christmas Brunch
would be the perfect time
to see each others homes all festively dressed for the holidays ~
the planning for a memorable time of fellowship began !
On Crooked Creek,
that meant a furniture re~arrange to accommodate 10 ladies.
"Mr. Ed" helped with the addition of the card table
at the end of our lower level dining room table.
Using two rectangular white linen tablecloths,
makes the height distance less noticeable !
After a light starching and pressing,
I added a white, rose embossed table runner
with white polka dots in the sheer edging
to anchor the lengthy centerpiece.
A six ~foot garland of assorted greenery
grounds the elements to this centerpiece.
Glass beads are wound throughout the entire length
to add illumination. Then silver picks are inserted
to keep a light and feminine appeal.
The creamy ivory and gold stripe ribbon
hides the loop and brings another Seasonal hue.
Here you can see how the cascading swag meanders
the entire length of both tables.
Random pine cones will hold handmade place cards !
The addition of birch bark votives
illuminates the swag and brings the cohesive element
that is befitting our lower level Family Room.
Our glass hurricane
sits toward the center of both tables.
**Placing a jar lid in the bottom of the hurricane
elevates the pillar candle for easier lighting.**
Aside the hurricane is a candle snuffer
disguised as a ornamental black hat !
My Homer Lauglin china brings a restful hue
to this Progressive Christmas Brunch
inviting one to linger long after dessert.
Although the dessert plates
appear to be part of this matched china pattern,
don't be deceived !
These dessert plates,
recently purchased @ Target, are plastic ! ! !
since I am still growing my Homer Laughlin Collection,
you can't imagine how excited I was to find these dessert plates.
Not only do they extend my need for entertaining,
they are also disposable.
Less time for clean ~up = more time for fellowship.
Lack of cups and saucers
allows for some creative mix ~ and ~ match On Crooked Creek !
My everyday white porcelain cups and saucers
are a great compliment to the other hues in this tablescape.
Clear bubble glass stemware
and everyday Oneida flatware,
combined with vintage linen embroidered napkins,
completes this place setting.
Vintage turquoise swirl depression creamer and sugar
and my everyday white creamer and lidded sugar bowl
are placed on opposite ends of the table for convenience.
Whichever way you view this tablescape,
fellowship and laughter will freely flow
from all in attendance.
On Crooked Creek,
while I'm pouring second cups of coffee and tea,
I'll leave you with some randomness of our
Progressive Christmas Brunch !
Before each guest arrived,
I slipped a Victorian Era bookmark at each place setting.
Handmade place cards filled each pinecone.
As part of my Home Tour,
a dessert buffet was set up in Studio One!
Although dampness was in the air,
not one flake was seen throughout our day !
Dunkin' Donuts Coffee and Raspberry Tea
were served along with. . .
Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting !
fellowship sweet and memories of a precious day ! ! !
A perfect Christmas Celebration
On Crooked Creek and three other homes !
Coming soon. . .
